HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Happy New Year! We celebrated the New Year at Kiawah Island. Erich had to move someone to South Carolina so we packed up with Grandpa Bob and Grandma Jane and headed to the beach.

Jack relaxes on the bench then. . .
Monkey See, Monkey Do!

Annie decided that she was too "old" to sleep in the pack-n-play. A sleepless night with Annie yelling, "Out, Out, Out!" meant we had to come up with a different sleeping plan. We let her sleep on a blow up mattress the next night. Imagine our surprise when we checked on her and she wasn't in her bed. We actually had to search. Erich was freaking out!!! She had gone into the corner of the closet and was fast asleep. She was all snuggled up. Bedtime became a challenge. We would tuck her in and a few minutes later she would come running into the living room. Funny and cute now, not so funny at the time!

A bike ride on New Year's Day
Annie took another spill. She fell face first onto the pavement as we were getting off of the bikes. She actually jumped from my arms. She had a big goose egg on her forehead and scrapped her cheek. She looked like she had been in a bad fight. She cried for a few minutes and was ready to go. She is extremely tough!

We went to an Oyster Roast on New Year's Eve. Erich, Grandma Jane and I ate four buckets of oysters. There were at least 25 to 30 in a bucket. Annie wasn't fond of the oysters

HOWEVER. . .

She liked calamari. She also liked Grouper.
Notice her poor face :(

Yes, Annie jumped from the mantel without warning. Good thing Grandpa Bob knows her history of jumping. He was ready for her.

Annie takes everything but the kitchen sink to the beach.
Did you know that sand is delicious? How much sand does Annie have in her mouth?

We were digging in the sand having a great time when Jack and Annie (and Daddy) wanted to put their feet in the ocean.

First, they sat in the water while Annie made a nice drip sandcastle on Jack's head.

Next, Jack was in the ocean up to his chest.

Then, Annie decided that she was thirsty after eating all of that sand. She drank the water and said, "YUM!"

Then, Jack found a snail and showed it to Annie. Priceless!!!

Next, Jack decided that his jeans were too wet and heavy. Well, Monkey See, Monkey Do, Annie had to take off her jeans, too.

Then, they thought it would be fun to wash their hair. You know salt water makes your hair really soft!

Finally, after playing in the sand a little more we were a mess. BUT we had A LOT of fun!!!
Annie and Jack "pose" at the top of the fire watch tower. We blew bubbles at the top.
What a wonderful New Years!

Annie is a seafood lover in the making! I LOVE calamari too!

Great pics, as usual.

Squeeze Annie and Jack for me.
