GOTCHA DAY

Today was called Gotcha Day! Well, they got us! We had the screamer. We were warned this could happen. She didn't stop screaming for TWO hours. But all of a sudden Jack walked in our room and fed her a few Cheerios and we got a smile out of her. She is now sleeping so peacefully. (Jack is in our bed!!!!) She fell asleep in my arms with an actual smile on her face. It was a whirlwind of a day. More details later. . . Enjoy the pictures. Love, Kari

I have chills and tears in my eyes! She is gorgeous! Screaming is good. It shows that she was attached to a caregiver and misses her. That means that she will bond with you quickly. Trust me, we were there 2 years ago. The screamers bonded the fastest with their forever families.
We can hardly wait to see you all (12 days)!

WOOHOO!!!! Congratulations!!! She is as cute as can be! That is so sweet that Jack was able to soothe her. That brother-sister bond has already started. And I love Nancy's post about Annie being more apt to bond quickly. I thought the same thing although I do not have any firsthand experience with adopting. Remember God chose you both to be her parents and He has given you everything you need to be the best parents for her. You're the most qualified for the job! Lean on Him for guidance and all will be perfect.

I cannot wait to meet her!!! And Lucy can't wait to play with her! Give her kisses and hugs from all of us. And give an extra special squeeze to Jack!

Love,
Melissa, David, and Lucy

Wow! We are soooo excited for you! She is absolutely beautiful! You know the screaming will soon stop when she realizes how much she is loved. I love the picture of Jack trying to soothe her! You have all been equally blessed by each other. What a wonderful and perfect addition to your family. We can't wait to see you all!

Katrina was very attached to her caregiver...she tried to follow her out that day and just screamed when I picked her up!!!! Katrina did her best bonding over stacking cups and cheerios the first week. Can she walk??? Did she feed herself??? How fun....

Wow! We are both sitting here (while fighting off Nico's attack) with tears in our eyes! We are so excited for you all - Annie is blessed to be with such a special family.

That picture of Annie in her own bed! She had to feel like she was sleeping on a cloud. She looked so peaceful. Nico can't wait to see Jack, and meet Annie.

Nico told everyone in PA that his friend Jack is in China, and they ask Why - Nico promptly responds - Getting Baby Annie!

See you all soon.

Brooke, Nico, and Dave too.
